Kalshi supports combos. Its official combo guide, checked October 8, 2026, describes each combination as a distinct market with its own book and live request-for-quote pricing. That is more specific than the former claim that Kalshi merely “experimented” with parlay-like batch orders.
A combo is one payoff, not several single bets
Kalshi says a combo’s settlement is the product of its component values, with a maximum $1 payout per contract. If all components settle at $1, the combo pays $1; a zero component makes the product zero. The actual underlying contract rules control exceptional outcomes.
A hypothetical pair of independent 50% outcomes has a 25% joint chance. If a $1-payout combo costs 30c, gross expected profit is 0.25 − 0.30 = −5c per contract, or −16.67% of cost, before fees. Independence is an assumption; correlated legs need a joint-probability estimate.
Buying two single contracts is a different portfolio. It can pay on one winning selection even when the other loses. It is not a synthetic equivalent of an all-legs-win combo.
A quote request does not guarantee a fill
The builder shows eligible combinations and requests prices from participants. Kalshi’s guide says a missing quote can leave a combo unfilled, and a displayed quote may change before execution. A filled trade cannot simply be undone by canceling it. This article does not promise that a later sale will be available.
Use the actual quoted combo price, size and fee, rather than multiplying rounded single-leg display prices and assuming you can execute that product. Eligibility in the builder also does not establish positive expected value.
DNP and partial settlement
Do not import a sportsbook’s void-leg rule. A component can settle to an intermediate value under its market terms. For example, component values of 0.70, 1 and 1 produce a 0.70 payout per combo contract. A DNP therefore does not automatically refund or cancel the whole position. Inspect each leg’s exact rule.
Researching a combo
Save the complete leg definitions, quote time, accepted price, actual fill and eventual component settlements. To evaluate forecasting quality, compare a predeclared joint-probability estimate with the total acquisition cost. Quoting “lower vig than sportsbooks” without matched executable tickets and costs is not evidence.
For independent-leg payout arithmetic, use the parlay math guide and calculator. The calculator’s independence assumption does not verify a real combo price or correlation model.
